Asian stocks fell on Wednesday as oil dropped and emerging-market and commodity-linked currencies weakened amid concern that China's economy may be faltering.
Shares of L&T Finance Holdings and Just Dial rallied more than 5 percent in early trade on inclusion in futures and options segment of the National Stock Exchange. The S&P BSE Sensex was down 18.40 points or 0.08% to 21,808.02. The index gained 33.30 points at the day's high of 21,859.72 in early trade. The index shed 58.28 points at the day's low of 21,768.14 in early trade.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.88%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (up 1.39%) and ITC (up 1.27%) edged higher from the Sensex pack.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive.
