Live Stock Trading Tips & News - Capital Goods Stocks Gain

After moving in a narrow range in afternoon trade, key benchmark indices extended gains in mid-afternoon trade.
The Indian markets have been on an uptrend, but individual stocks are stealing the show. A midcap stock, Astral Poly Technik Ltd, has rallied over 3400 per cent in the last five years, thanks to two stock splits one in 2010 and the other one in 2013.
The 50-share Nifty index also managed to reclaim its crucial psychological level of 7950, supported by gains in oil & gas, capital goods, consumer durable and banking stocks.
The Nifty was at 7952.75 up 16.70 points or 0.21 per cent. It touched an intraday high of 7,967.80 and a low of 7,942.25 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was up 94.49 points or 0.36% at 26,654.64. The index jumped 114.23 points at the day's high of 26,674.38 in early trade, a record high for the index.
India's NHPC shares jump 6 percent.Traders say the focus could shift to hydro power as analternative to coal in electricity generation. NHPC is the top gainer in BSE large-cap stocks called "A group" and NSE equity derivatives.



Stock Trading Tips:Sensex Scales Record High

The S&P BSE Sensex rallied over 80 points to hit its fresh record high of 26642.81 in trade on Thursday ahead of August F&O expiry. The rally in the index was led by gains in L&T, ICICI Bank, RILBSE 0.44 % and HDFC.
The CNX Nifty was up 20.95 points or 0.26% to 7,957. The index hit a high of 7,964.65 in intraday trade. The index hit a low of 7,942.25 in intraday trade.
Top private sector lender ICICI Bank, commercial vehicle maker Tata Motors, engineering and construction major L&T, state-run GAIL and BHEL advanced over a percent.
Shares of HDFC, HDFC Bank, ONGC, Reliance Industries, Wipro, HUL, Axis Bank and Bajaj Auto climbed 0.5-1 percent.
However, Infosys, SBI, Sun Pharma, Hindalco, Cipla, NTPC, Hero Motocorp and Tata Power declined 0.5-0.8 percent.
The market breadth indicating the overall health of the market was strong. The market sentiment was also boosted by provisional data showing that foreign funds were net buyers of Indian during the previous trading session.

Stock Trading Tips with Ending Session Updates


India's NSE index edged lower for a second consecutive session on Tuesday as firms including Jindal Steel and Power extended their slump after a Supreme Court ruling on coal allocation, while lenders fell due to concerns over their loan exposure.

The broader NSE index fell 0.02 percent, or 1.55 points, to end at 7,904.75, retreating further from a record high of 7,968.25 hit on Monday. Still, the NSE managed to close above the psychologically important 7,900 level.

Reliance Power fell 6.9 percent, while Adani Power lost 6.4 percent.Among lenders that have exposure to the power sector, State Bank of India lost 0.4 percent, Power Finance Corplost 1.1 percent and Union Bank lost 3.4 percent.

Stock Market opened today in a lower range and trims losses.The S&P BSE Sensex which plunged as much as 100 points in trade on Tuesday recouped some of the losses and was trading above its crucial psychological level of 26400, led by losses in ICICI BankBSE -0.08 %, L&T, Tata Motors, and M&M.

The Nifty was at 7,896 down 10 points or 0.13 per cent. It touched an intraday high of 7,898.00 and a low of 7,871.65 in trade today.
TCS gained after the company announced a partnership with Cloudera, a leader in enterprise analytic data management powered by Apache Hadoo.Tata Power shed another 4.1 percent and Jindal Steel lost 6 percent, in addition to 3.4 percent and 14 percent fall in previous session on coal block allocation scam.

Stock Tips & Afternoon Highlights: Indian shares Edge Higher


Indian shares edged higher on Thursday for a seventh session of gains in the past eight, as continued buying by foreign investors bolstered blue-chips such as State Bank of India.
The benchmark BSE index provisionally closed 0.17 percent higher at 26,360.11 points, while the broader NSE index ended up 0.2 percent at 7,891.10.
The S&P BSE Sensex pared some of its morning gains after rallying as much as 150 points in trade, led by gains in SBI, L&T, ICICI BankBSE 0.12 %, Tata SteelBSE -1.62 % and RIL.
The BSE Sensex was trading 0.19 per cent higher or 50.03 points at 26,364.32. It hit a low of 26,262.52 and a high of 26,464.80 in trade today.
The 50-share Nifty index was also trading in a narrow range, but below its crucial psychological level of 7900, weighed down by losses in metal, IT, pharma and realty stocks.

Stock Market Tips- Nifty Hits at Fresh Market


The Nifty opened in the green and hit a record high as investor bought stocks from technology, pharmaceuticals and auto.
The 50-share index was at 7,900.65, up 3.15 points or 0.04 per cent. It touched an all-time high of 7,922.70 and a low of 7,900.65 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was at 26,437.70, up 17.03 points or 0.06 per cent. It touched a high of 26,504.52 and a low of 26,437.69 in trade today.
A bout of volatility was witnessed as key benchmark indices trimmed losses after slipping into the red after opening higher. 
Bharti Airtel (up 1.42 percent), ACC (up 1.22 percent), HDFC Bank (up 1.18 percent), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (up 0.99 percent) and Hindalco (up 0.75 percent) were among the major Nifty gainers.

Stock Tips With Ending Session Updates- Sensex,Nifty Closed High


Stock market ends on another record high level. The Nifty ended at 7897.50, up 23.25 points while the Sensex was up 29.71 points at 26420.67. Both the benchmark indices were up for sixth day in row.

The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 26,420.67, up 29.71 points or 0.11 per cent. It touched all-time high of 26,530.67 and a low of 26,387.84 in trade today.

Stock Market Tips with Highlights of Intraday Trading


The BSE benchmark Sensex today plunged by 260 points to close at nearly three-week low of 25,329.14 on selling pressure sparked by escalating geopolitical tensions after US President Barack Obama authorised air strikes in Iraq.
After opening lower at 25,406.87, the 30-share Sensex dipped to 25,232.82 at one point before ending the day at 25,329.14, down 259.87 points or 1.02 per cent, from its previous close.
Sesa Sterlite was the biggest loser, down nearly 6 percent. Larsen and Toubro, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, BHEL, Hindalco, Tata Power, Coal India and NTPC were other prominent losers, down 2-4 percent. 
Heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Infosys and ICICI Bank did not see major crack today, down little over half a percent.

The S&P BSE Sensex plunged as much as 271 points in trade on Friday tracking other Asian markets, which were trading lower after US President Barack Obama authorised air strikes against Islamic militants in northern Iraq, said media reports.
Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index also slipped below its crucial psychological support level of 7600, weighed down by losses in banks, realty, capital goods and power stocks.
The BSE Mid-Cap index was down 122.49 points or 1.34% at 9,028.25. The BSE Small-Cap index was down 143.43 points or 1.43% at 9.899.78. Both these indices underperformed the Sensex.
Blue-chip stocks fall: Tata Motors Ltd down 2.2 percent, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd down 2.4 percent, and ICICI Bank loses 2.3 percent. However, defensive stocks gain: Dr Reddy's Laboratories up 0.7 percent.

Mid Market Live Stock Trading Tips by Money CapitalHeight

India's NSE index fell for a second consecutive session on Thursday as IT stocks such as Infosys fell after global rival Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp cut its annual revenue guidance.
The broader NSE index provisionally lost 0.27 percent.
Infosys provisionally fell 2.1 percent, Tata Consultancy Services lost 1.5 percent, while HCL Technologies ended down 1.8 percent. 
The market ended at lower levels. The Nifty ended tad below 7650, losing 22.80 points at 7649.25. The Sensex was down 76.26 points at 25589.01. About 1330 shares advanced, 1613 shares declined, and 112 shares were unchanged.
Among the gainers were Tata Steel, Maruti, ONGC, BHEL and SBI. IT stocks remained under pressure as Cognizant's lower guidance sparked fears. Infosys and TCS fell 1-2 percent each. Other laggards were Hindalco, Sesa Sterlite and Tata Motors.

The BSE Sensex and Nifty fell nearly 1% on Wednesday, snapping two days of gains, as lenders such as State Bank of India and ICICI Bank slumped on worries that a sell-off in government bonds would hit the value of their debt holdings.
The Sensex provisionally closed 0.95 percent lower at 25,660.84, while the Nifty fell 0.96 percent to 7,672.05.
ICICI Bank Ltd (ICBK.NS) provisionally fell 2.67 percent while State Bank of India (SBI.NS) closed down 2.02 percent.
Gold steadied on Wednesday as concerns of increasing military action along the Ukraine border put global equities under pressure.pot gold gained 0.1 percent to $1,288.74 an ounce by 1003 GMT. The metal fell to its lowest since June 19 at $1,280.40 last week, steadying just above that level since.
Platinum gained 0.2 percent to $1,449.50 an ounce, while palladium was flat on the day at $844.22 an ounce.

The S&P BSE Sensex plunged as much as 72 points in trade on Wednesday following muted trend seen in other Asian markets.
Shares in India's Hero MotoCorp Ltd fall as much as 2.2 percent after the company's April-June quarterly earnings missed some analysts' estimates.Hero reported a net profit of 5.63 billion rupees, against a consensus forecast of 6.13 billion rupees.
Kotak Securities said the company's EBITDA was below its estimates. Kotak cut its price target to 2,800 rupees from 2,850 rupees, while maintaining a "hold" rating on the stock.
Hero shares down 1.77 percent to 2,537.60 rupees at 0353 GMT.
Gold ticked up slightly on Wednesday and could benefit from a bout of market risk aversion as fears of increasing military action along the Ukraine border put global equities under pressure.
Silver ticked up after dropping to a seven-week low in the previous session on strong U.S. data and a higher dollar.
