The session saw very high volatility
in trades as at one point the Sensex and Nifty touched other all-time high
levels. The 50-share Nifty for the first time touched 8,985 and the Sensex
kissed 29,786.32.
The broader markets also ended on a weak note. BSE mid-cap index closed weaker by 0.3 per cent and the small-cap index managed to close with marginal gains.
