Stock Tips for Today & Market News



Sensex up 100 pts, Nifty holds 8150; Sun Pharma, ICICI gain
The market gained further on Thursday morning with the Sensex rising 118.08 points to 26958.58 and the Nifty climbing 28.30 points to 8152.75. About 512 shares have advanced, 102 shares declined, and 66 shares are unchanged on the BSE.  
 ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, Vedanta, Axis Bank, Hero Motocorp and Ambuja Cements gained 1-1.5 percent while Tata Motors, Tata Steel, NTPC, HDFC Bank, GAIL, Cairn India, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra and Dr Reddy's Labs were top losers in early trade.

Meanwhile, the Indian economy has improved on all fronts and the government's coffers are ringing. The indirect tax collections jumped by a whopping 40 percent in just the first 2 months of this fiscal and the reserve bank made the highest ever quarterly reserves of over USD 30 billion in just the first three months of this calendar year.
 The Indian rupee has opened higher at 63.81 per dollar today against previous day's closing value of 63.84 a dollar.

Stock Market Opening Bell




The BSE benchmark Sensex fell over 150 points in the morning deals on the back of selling in IT and FMCG stocks.
The 50-share Nifty was trading below its psychological level of 8,250 on the back of losses in TCS, ITC, Infosys, L&T and Bharti Airtel.
The Indian benchmark indices have been facing the heat of selling pressure since quite some time now. The Sensex has fallen over 1,800 points in the last nine trading sessions while the Nifty is down 900 points (10 per cent) from its peak in March 2015.
Meanwhile, IT and FMCG stocks were among the worst hit in the morning deals. The BSE IT index fell 0.6 per cent on the back of losses in TCS, HCL Technologies, Wipro and Infosys.
Shares of Bharti Airtel fell over 1 per cent to Rs 391 after the company said that its net profit for the January-March quarter profit rose 30.5 per cent to Rs 1,255 crore, buoyed by a robust customer growth and rise in mobile data revenue.

Stock Market Open Flat



The market has opened on a flat note with the Sensex falling 10.45 points to 29033.99 and the Nifty declining 12.50 points to 8821.50.
About 634 shares have advanced, 230 shares declined, and 105 shares are unchanged on the BSE.  
M&M, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, HDFC, HCL Technologies and Idea Cellular fell 1-1.8 percent whereas TCS rallied 2 percent ahead of fourth quarter earnings on Thursday evening. ITC, ICICI Bank, SBI, ONGC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and UltraTech Cement climbed 0.5-1.5 percent.
The Indian rupee opened higher today, up 14 paise at 62.37 per dollar versus 62.51 Monday.
