Stock Market Opening Bell




The BSE benchmark Sensex fell over 150 points in the morning deals on the back of selling in IT and FMCG stocks.
The 50-share Nifty was trading below its psychological level of 8,250 on the back of losses in TCS, ITC, Infosys, L&T and Bharti Airtel.
The Indian benchmark indices have been facing the heat of selling pressure since quite some time now. The Sensex has fallen over 1,800 points in the last nine trading sessions while the Nifty is down 900 points (10 per cent) from its peak in March 2015.
Meanwhile, IT and FMCG stocks were among the worst hit in the morning deals. The BSE IT index fell 0.6 per cent on the back of losses in TCS, HCL Technologies, Wipro and Infosys.
Shares of Bharti Airtel fell over 1 per cent to Rs 391 after the company said that its net profit for the January-March quarter profit rose 30.5 per cent to Rs 1,255 crore, buoyed by a robust customer growth and rise in mobile data revenue.

Stock Market Open with Cautious note — Cipla falls



Sensex, Nifty start on a cautious note; Cipla, Hindalco, HDFC Bank top losers; ten stocks in focus

The market fell marginally in opening trade on last day of the week. The Sensex declined 58.69 points to 28826.52 and the Nifty slipped 18.25 points to 8760.05. About 583 shares have advanced, 398 shares declined, and 97 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
Cipla lost more than 2 percent. Hindalco Industries, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, HDFC, PNB, Asian Paints and Zee Entertainment slliped 0.5-1.5 percent. However, IDFC rallied 2.2 percent. HCL Tech, Idea Cellular, ONGC, Wipro, Reliance Industries, Sesa Sterlite and Infosys gained 0.5-1 percent. 
The Indian rupee has opened marginally lower at 62.30 per dollar today against previous day's closing value of 62.24 a dollar.

Sensex slips below 29000| ahead of Rail Budget 2015| Nifty tests 8750



Sensex, Nifty flat; rail stocks dip ahead of Prabhu's speech
The market has opened flat on February F&O expiry and Railway Budget day. The Sensex is up 27.01 points or at 29035.00 and the Nifty is up 11.75 points at 8779.00. About 371 shares have advanced, 126 shares declined, and 111 shares are unchanged.
Sesa Sterlite, NTPC, ICICI Bank, ONGC and GAIL are top gainers while Infosys, BHEL, Tata Power, Coal India and Dr Reddy's Labs are among the losers in the Sensex.
All rail stocks are under pressure as Suresh Prabhu prepares to read out Railway Budget at 12 pm today.
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 61.93 per dollar on Thursday against previous day's closing value of 61.97 a dollar.
